The Beat District is our umbrella for everything dance at KIHA — a dedicated studio for movement, rhythm, and community on Oahu. For now every program — line dancing, hip-hop, and Zumba — runs as a taught lesson, every level welcome. Multiple programs under one roof, one beat.
Important announcements
Zumba cancelled today — Saturday, October 17
Due to unfortunate circumstances, tonight’s 6:00–7:00 PM Zumba class is cancelled. Line dancing still runs at 7:00–8:00 PM, and Zumba returns next Saturday.
No Learn to Skate — Saturday, October 24
The 3:00–4:00 PM Learn to Skate session is cancelled for Saturday, October 24 only. Public skating runs as usual from 4:00 PM, and Learn to Skate returns the following Saturday.
No line dancing — October 24 & 25
Line dancing is cancelled Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25. Zumba (Saturday 6:00–7:00 PM) and hip-hop (Sunday 3:00–4:00 PM) still run, and line dancing is back the following weekend.

We're intentionally leaving room for additional dance styles, workshops, and guest-led classes. New programs will join the umbrella as we launch them.

The Beat District at KIHA · Dance classes on the rink in regular shoes — off-skate, not in skates.
KIHA is opening a new dance studio — The Beat District — and our first priority hires are hip hop and line dance instructors. Yes, we're a roller skating rink — these classes meet on the rink floor in regular shoes, not in skates. This is dance teaching, not skate coaching.
Other dance styles are welcome too — hip hop and line dance just happen to be the styles we're staffing first. If you teach something else and you've got the spark, please reach out.
What matters most isn't a résumé — it's the spark you bring to the floor. A genuine passion for dancing, a love of teaching, and the confidence to step out and demonstrate are the heart of this role. Formal instructor, choreography, or coaching experience is absolutely a plus and we'd love to hear about it — but if you can light up a room and bring others along with you, we want to talk.
